Worth Preserving
I know this because I grew up loving my family stories — and as I got older and had children of my own, I realized how important it is to capture and preserve them. For loved ones to be truly seen. For families to cherish those stories together. For future generations to always know where they came from.
My brothers and I tried everything: life story journals, online prompt services. They all ended up either blank or with dry answers that didn't do justice to the rich, beautiful stories our loved ones actually had. As I talked to other families, I realized this is a common problem — people find it incredibly difficult to tell their life stories on their own.
The missing ingredient was natural human conversation. When I simply put a camera in front of us and started talking, we learned more in a few hours than we had in years, and came away with something the whole family could hold onto forever.
